Philanthropy

Things may have seemed a little quiet on our socials the past year, but I can tell you that, our year was anything but quiet. Aside from our mentoring of regular clients, Michelle and I undertook and personal project very close to our hearts.

As Ambassadors for the Stillbirth Foundation Australia, a role we take very seriously, as we lost our daughter Celeste 23 years ago, we filmed a documentary as part of Michelle running to raise funds and awareness from Adelaide to Melbourne. This project saw us traveling to all parts of Australia to interview bereaved parents, clinicians and researchers as well as in November Michelle embarking on the run.

Unfortunately Michelle suffered an injury around 600kms and had to stop, but, had by that time raised over $100,000 and more importantly plenty of awareness around Stillbirth.

We are currently in the process of finalising this documentary and hope to show this around the nation later this year. We are also working on numerous other initiatives to continue to raise funds and awareness.

Someone recently said to me on holiday, you are so successful, I hope I can afford this one day. That word success is an interesting one isn’t it? You see success has many different elements to it, and wealth is only one.

I feel true success is when you can honestly say you are happy and you are doing everything that you want to do. For me, being able to contribute to the stillbirth community and make a difference in other people’s lives, then that is success.

Michelle and I are looking forward to continuing our work with the Foundation in 2025.
